Council Grove Elementary Music students attend music by grade level classroom. Each class attends music for 50 minutes once every three school days. The attendance center includes PK-4th grades. Class sizes range from 15-28 students. Learning is facilitated by an OSBE certified music instructor and a full-time aide.
Design and implementation of the music curriculum is guided by the NAfME 2014 Standards, the Oklahoma PASS standards for music, 21st Century Skills standards, and ISTE standards. Understanding that meaningful learning occurs when students willingly engage in active, collaborative endeavors, particular attention is given to the 4 C's. Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, and Critical Thinking skills are intentionally cultivated and empowered in the student community.
